Welcome to the Bear Creek Farms new website! We are so excited you found us!
Bear Creek Farm was established in 2014 as a result of Pappy’s life-long dream of owning and operating a family farm. You see, Pappy grew up on a farm in Billings, Missouri, where he learned how to tinker (old school language for fixin’ stuff), and well, if you don’t know much about tinkerin’, tinkerin’ with one thing leads to tinkerin’ with another, and before you know it, you’ve got a whole lot of tinkerin’ going on!
It started with bee hives. Pappy learned from his daddy how to keep bees, and, liking the idea of having honey with his biscuits, decided to take up beekeeping. In 2012 Pappy bought his first apple trees, thinking it would give all those bees something to do with their natural gifts. A year later came the grape vines. Then more land, chickens, a few alpacas, some more trees, and last year? Last year Grandma Mary, like all good women, decided enough-was-enough and it was time to have a place for all Pappy’s tinkerin’, and Bear Creek Farms was created.
So here we are, May of 2015, with a bees, a barn, chickens, alpacas, honey, antiques, grapes, apples, peaches, local produce, quilts, fancies, and a whole lot of green and growing things. It has been oh, so good to build up this dream! Pappy and Grandma Mary welcome you to the farm, and hope you enjoy it as much as they do!
